Artist's Comments

Some Klingon revisionist history based on "General George Washington crossing the Delaware at the Battle of Trenton on Christmas night 1776" by Emmanuel Leutze. Needless to say a big hit at conventions amongst Klingon fans.

xDDDD OH MY GOODNESS.
This is awesome beyond belief. Like the greatest thing I have EVER seen. Ever. Why in the WORLD this doesn't have a million Trekkie-favorites is BEYOND ME. It's a wonderful painting - and even better subject matter! Trekkies of the universe unite! (or Niners, specifically, as the case is with me...) ;-; Sadly I've yet to go to a convention, though I'd really love to.

Well done!

Worf did point out that the Klingon Empire has a certain knack for rewriting history in their favor. ^^ And as much as I revere the Founding Fathers of the U.S., the vast majority of art depicting them was over-idealized (at least it was a common trait in the Romantic era).

So, if you think George Washington really stood gallantly like that on one frigid dawn …why not just have it be Klingons? :D

soooooooo awesome
:iconrenngent:
But of course! It would have been Klingons that won the war for us! Great idea and excellent execution!
