Sith Wedding... by judgefang Sith Wedding... by judgefang
Part of a series of Parody Art I do for conventions, begun with "Klingons crossing the Delaware". This one is based on a famous painting called the Arnolfini Wedding by Jan Van Eyck. Anyone who has taken an Art History Class should be familiar with it. This version features a certain annoying Jedi and his Senator bride.

A Sith wedding?

I remember studying that painting in my Art Appreciation class last semester, when we were studying the Renaissance; very interesting piece.

Again, :iconwhatyoudidplz:

Loving a bit of Jan van eyck appropriation! I feel so overwhelmed at the co-existance of Star Wars and traditional Formalist painting. You have captured the symbolism of the original perfectly, with an interesting twist.

Yeah, I don't remember doing this on purpose, but it looks like Darth Vader in the mirror.

This is great. Into the favorite's it goes! I like the mirror reflection of Vader. Annoying Jedi, indeed. I've always said R2 and 3-PO are the dog and cat of Star Wars. You've proven me right!
Very nice job.

That painting was just begging for the Anikin/Padme touch.
Must hit the art history books for new inspiration.

*praises* Very nice parody! I love how you reproduced the mirror like in Van Eyck's painting. And in place of the dog is, appropriately, R2.
Very creative! And I especially love your rendition of the cityscape, nice style.

Hahaha! Wow, seeing this just made my day. That picture is in every art book, every history book, everywhere everywhere everywhere. But I've never seen it like this, how wonderful! There's only one thing that I can possibly think of that's missing - the writing above the mirror that has Van Eyck's name ... so many extra clever little things could have been done with those words. Overall though I've got to say, even past the humor of it this is also beautiful work!
